Japanese Knotweed

Japanese knotweed (Reynoutria japonica) is a

large, aggressive, herbaceous perennial plant native to East Asia.

Brought to the West as an ornamental in the 19th century,

it is now considered one of the world’s most destructive invasive species

due to its ability to damage structures and choke out native ecosystems.
