Early Winter – Wildlife near the High Point Preserve

Here is a Youtube Video featuring Birds and other wild creatures from our local Silver Lake PA environment.

The King Fisher takes a lead role while tenderizing a catch; the Great Blue Heron wacks a newt before making it a snack.

The Mallard ducks (Dippers)  have been flocking and stocking up for their trip south for the winter. There have also been some Common Mergansers ( Divers) hunting for energy for their migration flight.

On the terrain in the High Point Preserve, our frequently seen porcupine makes an appearance along with some rarer Gray Foxes.  There is a brief look at a short tailed weasel ( Ermine) with its white winter coat.

The one camera on the raptor nest has picked up a few visits this week from a Great Horned Owl ( male likely).  Hoping that we get a female answering his hooting call.
